Yes! The lab is now testing in-person again. However, we are still doing testing online, via Zoom, as well so there are both possibilities based on what is preferred by and most convenient for our participants.
Is the lab back to testing in-person?
How long does a study last?
A typical study lasts about 15-20 minutes. Our online appointments usually last 30-45 minutes via Zoom, during which we fit in 2-3 different research activities. Some studies take place in your child’s school or at the Boston Museum of Science. These sessions typically last between 5-15 minutes total.
What will my child do during the study?
Your child will hear a story, watch a short video, or play a short game with an experienced researcher. Our games are all child-friendly, and children typically enjoy the experience!
When are appointments scheduled?
We are happy to work around your schedule. Studies are typically scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm ET. However, please email us at learnlab@bu.edu if our available appointment times don’t work for you, and we would be happy to accommodate you.
Parents are always welcome to stay with their child.
