Interested in participating in studies in-person or online with the Social Learning Lab?

If you are the parent of a young child, we would love to work with you!

With the Social Learning Lab, 4- to 10-year-old children can play fun in-person or online learning games as part of educational research studies. Our studies involve engaging activities in which children get to participate in storybook readings, thinking games, puzzles, and more! A trained researcher from our lab will interact with your child to guide them through the activities and ask them what they think.

Your child’s answers will help us understand how children think about many different things, like how they learn from others or how they think about science!

Both online and in-person appointments require very little input from you! If the appointment is online, you would simply need to help your child log into the Zoom appointment and stay within earshot (just in case there are any technological issues!). If it is in person, then we would need you to drop and pick up your child. The sessions generally range from half an hour to an hour. If you are interested in your child participating in more studies or if you have multiple children within the ages of 4-10, we would be happy to arrange longer sessions or several sessions over the span of a few days. We want to make sure that the experience is convenient for you and fun for your child/children!

If your family would like to take part in our research, please fill out this Parent Interest Form. We will contact you soon to provide you with more information about scheduling an appointment.

After the appointment, each participant will receive an Amazon gift card!
